When do tickets go on sale for the 2019 sewing retreat?

What is included with registration and how much does this cost?

+Dedicated sewing space in a ballroom with other sewing enthusiasts. Enjoy a 72″ x 18″ banquet table to work at.  No crowding here!

2019 Modern Stitching Affair tickets are $425 or 4 monthly payments of $111.25

If you’re interested in reserving a hotel room, rates are between $99-$119 per night plus taxes and fees.

All ticket sales are final. No refunds. Tickets are transferable. Please contact modstitching@gmail.com for more information.

7:30 p.m. – 12 a.m. Thursday
8:00 a.m. – 12 a.m. Friday
8:00 a.m. – 12 a.m. Saturday
8:00 a.m. – 12 p.m. Sunday
*Pattern Demonstrations: There will be prep work you will need to complete before the retreat. Note: All classes and attendees are set up in the same ballroom.

When should I reserve my hotel room?

Immediately after you purchase your ticket.  Guests may reserve their rooms by calling the Holiday Inn at the American Center (608) 249-4220 or book online. Use group code: MSA

2019 Rates

  • King Room $99 per night plus taxes and fees
  • Two Queen Room $119 per night plus taxes and fees

Cutoff Date: Rates are guaranteed until Midnight on Monday, March 25th, 2019.

What is the agenda for the weekend?

The third annual Modern Stitching Affair will be held April 25-28, 2019.  We are really stoked we can do this again.  This is the tentative plan, Stan:

Thursday, April 25 plan on…
+ 9:30 am Shop hop bus leaves. (Optional, additional sign-up required)
+ 4 pm or later Hotel room guest check-in
+ 5 pm Retreat check-in begins and party! Rub elbows with other Modern Stitching Affair attendees
+ 5-5:30 pm Shop hop bus returns
+ 6:30 pm – 12:00 am Set up and free sewing
Friday, April 26 we be like…
+ 6:30 am – 8:45 am If you rented a room at the hotel, join us for complimentary breakfast at Geier’s Grill.
+ 8:00 am – 9:00 am Sewing room opens – free sewing time
+  9:00 am – 12:00 pm Learn foundation paper piecing with Violet Craft
+ 12:00 pm – 2 pm Lunch & free sewing time
+ 2:00 pm – 5 pm   Continue with the demonstration by Violet
+ 5:00 pm   Dinner on your own with your new friends

Can I rent a sewing machine?

If you’d prefer not to travel with your machine (or if you’d like to try out something new), you can rent a brand new PFAFF sewing machine from the Electric Needle.  The rental fee is $30/day ($90/weekend). And guess what?! If you decide you love it and must take it home, your rental fee will go towards the purchase price. AND…to top it all off, the Electric Needle is giving us a special price on the machines for the weekend! Please call them at 608-442-5449 to schedule a rental. Rental sewing machines will be delivered and picked up at the retreat.  There will be a quick orientation on the machine Thursday night after the welcome reception for those who rent.

When will I get my supply list?

Supply lists will be emailed to you on or before January 31.

 

What if I have to cancel?

Tickets to the Modern Stitching Affair are non-refundable. However, if you purchased a ticket and cannot attend for any reason, your ticket may be transferred to someone else. If the event is sold out, we will keep a waiting list. Let us know you can’t make it, and we will contact people on the waiting list to try to sell your ticket for you. If no one on the waiting list is able to purchase your ticket, then you are free to sell your ticket to anyone you please. Let us know who will be coming in your place and we’ll take it from there.
